On the first two episodes of the Gospel Gathering series, we shares a recording of the December 2022 talk by Dr. Curt Thompson on “The Soul of the Pastor.” Dr. Thompson (author of The Soul of Desire, The Soul of Shame, and Anatomy of the Soul) joins pastors and faith leaders in the Pacific Northwest to ask the questions: Who sees you? In our journey of being seen, soothed, secure and safe: who is walking with you in this way? Who are the people who have answered the call to help care for you as a leader?

Dr. Curt Thompson is a Christian psychiatrist who weaves together an understanding of interpersonal neurobiology (IPNB) and a Christian view of what it means to be human. Through his workshops, speaking engagements, books, organizational consulting, private clinical practice and other platforms, he helps people process their longings, grief, identity, purpose, perspective of God and perspective of humanity, inviting them to engage more authentically with their own stories and their relationships. Curt and his wife, Phyllis, live outside of Washington DC and have two adult children.
