PrayerPDX, 24-7 Prayer, and Civil Righteousness are hosting a Downtown Prayer Room with rhythms of prayer for the city.
10 churches | 10 days | 10 hrs a day
Daily Schedule:
7am-10am: Open Prayer Room with stations (15 minute guided devotional at the top of each hour)
Come engage in creative prayer stations that will help you learn about the "10 Days of Awe" in the Jewish calendar and how these days can inform our faith and guide our prayers. Prayer stations that help pray for the city will also be available.
11am-2pm: Guided Prayer Walks
Join a downtown prayer walk leaving from the venue at Noon each day. Some history of Portland will be shared and prayers will focus on areas of injustice such as houselessness, sex trafficking, and poverty. The prayer room will also be open during this time for quiet intercession and use of prayer stations.
6pm-10pm: Worship and Intercession
Corporate Prayer and Intercession will take place each night from 7-9pm. The prayer room will be open before and after this time together.
Why this location, and what should I expect? Old Town/China Town has long been a stronghold in the city and is both a current and historic place of pain. Prayer walks and times of intercession will include a time of learning about our city, some of the roots of pain, and key ways to pray. Morning devotionals and prayer stations will include information about how the Jewish calendar can inform our faith and our prayers. These 10 Days, known as the 10 Days of Awe, are from Rosh Hashanah to Yom Kippur.
